Eugene J. (Gene) Godbold is Commercial Bank Executive for the NationsBank
Mid-Atlantic Banking Group. In this capacity, he manages all Commercial
Bank activities in the Mid-Atlantic region including Maryland, Virginia
and Washington, D.C.
Mr. Godbold joined the bank in 1977 as a management trainee. During his twenty-two
years with the company, he has served in various capacities in the Carolinas, Florida
and in the Mid-Atlantic. Most recently, Mr. Godbold managed the Mid-Atlantic Specialty
Banking Group.
A native of Charleston, South Carolina, Mr. Godbold earned a bachelor's degree
in science from Furman University in Greenville, S.C., and is a graduate of The
Stonier School of Banking.
Since moving to the Washington area in 1991, Mr. Godbold has been involved in
numerous community activities and presently is a member of the Washington Hospital
Foundation and the George Washington School of Business advisors.
